G. Malpuech et A. Kavokin, Resonant Rayleigh scattering of exciton-polaritons in nitride-based multiple quantum wells, MAT SCI E B, 82(1-3), 2001, pp. 134-136
We have shown theoretically that the resonant Rayleigh scattering (RRS) of
light by semiconductor quantum wells (QWs) has a polaritonic nature, which
is manifested in the pronounced oscillations in the time-resolved RRS spect
ra from multiple QWs, recently reported. This phenomenon is especially impo
rtant in GaN-based QWs because of a huge exciton oscillator strength in GaN
and long-scale static disorder originated from the polarization fields. Th
e stimulated scattering of light is predicted in GaN/AlGaN QWs pumped under
oblique incidence between A and B excitons and probed in the normal incide
nce geometry. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. all rights reserved.
