Abstract
A series of 20-n-alkylpregnanes and their triaromatic analogs have been ten tatively identified in crude oils and source rock extracts from the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin. When found in oils in this basin, these compound s may serve as molecular indicators for source input from the Uppermost Dev onian-Mississippian epicontinental black shales.
