Contribution of higher order effects to the one-photon exchange approximati
on were studied in the first excited state of C-12 by comparing inclusive i
nelastic scattering cross sections of electrons and positrons obtained at t
he Saclay Linear Accelerator. The data were compared lo a distorted wave Bo
rn approximation (DWBA) calculation. The results indicate an effect less th
an 2% within 2 sigma, compatible with what was observed in recent elastic s
cattering measurements.
