Nuclear magnetic resonance on oriented nuclei was applied to Nb-89 (I
rr = 9/2(+); T-1/2 = 2.0 h) and Zr-89 (I-pi = 9/2(+); T-1/2 = 78 h). T
he zero-field hyperfine splitting frequency nu(M) = \g mu(N)B(HF)/h\,
was determined to be 278.55(12) MHz for Nb-89<(Fe)under bar> and 51.57
(3) MHz for Zr-89<(Fe)under bar>. With the known magnetic hyperfine fi
elds B-HF(Nb<(Fe)under bar>) = -264.54(19) kG and B-HF(Zr<(Fe)under ba
r>) = -284(6) kG, the magnetic moments are deduced to be mu (Nb-89) =
6.216(5) mu(N) and mu(Zr-89) = -1.072(23) mu(N). (C) 1997 Published by
