The behavior of Drosophila larvae: their ethology, development, genetics and evolution

This is a review about our contributions in ethology, development, genetics , and evolution of larval behavioral patterns of Drosophila in honor of the late Professor Doctor Danko Brncic Juricic. The developmental behavioral g enetics of larval foraging and pupation of Drosophila are discussed. It is also emphasized the importance of research strategies lead to understand pr operly the relationships between genotype and behavior during development o f the organisms. Finally, a comparison between phylogenetic relationships o f sis Drosophila species of the mesophragmatica group and their development al patterns of larval behaviors is provided.
