The heat effects of solution of ZrOCl2. 8H(2)O in water, accompanied by hyd
rolysis of zirconium ions, were determined calorimetrically. At 298.15 K in
the range of zirconium oxychloride concentrations 0.03-1.5 M, the solution
of ZrOCl2. 8H(2)0 in water was successively accompanied by two endothermic
and two exothermic effects related to hydrolysis and aggregation of zircon
ium ions.
