confronts the examiner with a large range of signs. The following is
an overview of the literature of the clinical examination methods used
to examine back problems in the horse. The clinical examination of th
e horse's back has been most thoroughly described by the work of Jeffc
ott (1978-1995). As this work is well published, information often ove
rlapps. Therefore a review of the literature to address work of the mo
st recent findings (1978-1995) is necessary.
