The authors report on a patient with a greater superficial petrosal nerve n
eurinoma. The patient developed severe acute facial palsy and the palsy imp
roved soon after removal of the tumor. We review of the literature and desc
ribe its rarity and surgical treatment with regard to other facial nerve ne
urinomas originating from the main trunk of the facial nerve.
