Abstract
Mycobactin J 1 is a commercially available siderophore isolated from Mycoba cterium avium subsp, paratuberculosis. There are discrepancies between prev ious reports of its structure and none have addressed its absolute configur ation. We report here the complete structure and stereochemistry of mycobac tin J, along with methodology to enable the determination of the absolute c onfiguration of other mycobactins on a small scale.
