B. Buhler et al., Structure and characterization of a micro flow system for the study of modulated concentrations, TRAC-TREND, 20(4), 2001, pp. 186-194
This article discusses a micro flow system that was constructed using the p
rinted circuit board technique, and where fluid flow is by hydrostatic pres
sure. A new approach in the biosensor field, modulation of analyte concentr
ation, is investigated. The flow and distribution of analyte molecules are
examined by observing the dispersion of the analyte molecules under the con
dition of modulation of their concentration by alternate injection of analy
te solution and pure water. A theoretical model for the description of a se
quence of dye packages in a micro channel under laminar flow conditions is
compared with the experimental data. (C)2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All righ
