Abstract
Duplex austenite-ferrite stainless steel with 8.6w/o (10 v/o) Cr3C2 and 2 w /o CrB were prepared from the premixes of 316L and 434L stainless steel ato mized powders. Pronounced densification was observed after 1508K sintering in hydrogen. Commencement of liquid phase sintering was observed after 1508 K. Variation of hardness was found to be proportionate to densification, w hereas coercivity in general decreased with increased sintering temperature . Corrosion resistance was found to depend on sintering temperature.
