Jackson-Pratt (JP) drains are commonly used after urologic surgery. One of
the complications associated with the use of JP drains occurs when the drai
n breaks, leaving the distal fenestrated part at the time of attempted remo
val. We describe the endoscopic retrieval of a retained JP drain, which was
safely performed with local anesthesia and minimal risk. UROLOGY 57: 973-9
