Abstract
The analysis of the mechanics of a partially bridged crack leads to studyin g a strongly singularly perturbed integral equation. Rigorous methods are e mployed to obtain a solution and give its principal asymptotic term. This i s done by using an adaption of the Wiener-Hopf factorization to this proble m which requires the use of pseudo-differential calculus.
