A numerical study employing the Euler equations in a two-dimensional duct f
lows is presented. Thompson boundary conditions imposed at the inflow/outfl
ow boundaries indicated bounded growth of absolute error with increasing an
gle of incidence of oblique acoustic disturbances, supporting the suitabili
ty of these boundary conditions for acoustic propagation and noise control
problems. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
