Abstract
All available phase diagram and thermodynamic data for BaCl2 containing sub systems of the LiCl-NaCl-KCl-RbCl-CsCl-MgCl2-CaCl2 SrCl2 BaCl2 system were critically evaluated and optimized. The modified quasichemical model for sh ort-range ordering was used for the liquid phase, The model parameters obta ined for the binary and ternary subsystems, combined with similar parameter s obtained in previous optimizations of subsystems without BaCl2, can be us ed to predict the thermodynamic properties and phase equilibria of the nine -component system.
