Abstract
We construct the natural time operator for the discrete dynamical system ge nerated by the cusp map and give explicitly the age eigenfunctions which pr ovide a shift representation of the evolution allowing for probabilistic pr ediction. In contradistinction, the construction of the spectral decomposit ion of the cusp map is not an easy problem. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
