Abstract
The reaction of Sn(NMe2)(2) with H(2)Ndmp (H(2)Ndmp = 2-amino-4,6-dimethoxy pyrimidine) and H2O (ca. 4:4:1 equivalents, respectively) gives the cage co mplex [Sn-9(Ndmp)(7)(HNdmp)(2)O-2] 1, containing an oxo double-cubane fragm ent [Sn-7(Ndmp)(6)O-2] coordinated to a neutral (HNdmpSn)(2)(mu -Ndmp) unit ; 1 is the largest imido Sn(ii) complex so far characterised.
