Abstract
The review deals with some potentials of chemical modification of jnterdigi tated array microelectrodes with various polymer films; their- conductometr ic and enzyme applications are briefly reviewed. The modification can be pe rformed potentiostatically from a modifier solution until both individually addressable segments are interconnected. The conductivity of polymer immob ilized on the electrode surface is influenced by the presence of specific c ompounds. Electropolymerization of polypyrrole also allows immobilization o f enzymes directly in the polymer structure. Conductometric enzyme biosenso rs can detect products of enzyme reactions due to increasing conductivity o f solutions. The method is a powerful tool in analysis of species which pla y an important role in biochemical processes.
