Abstract
Dogs with atopic dermatitis often have concurrent allergies and are prone t o relapsing skin and ear infections, which significantly contribute to thei r discomfort level. Management of both secondary infections and concurrent allergies is crucial to reduce pruritus. A combination of several systemic and topical therapies maybe needed to control clinical signs. Much research has been done in recent years to identify effective and safe alternative t reatments. This article discusses the results of recent clinical trials eva luating these new therapies.
