Abstract
Loss of the p53 tumor suppressor pathway contributes to the development of most human cancers. p53 is a nuclear protein that functions as a regulator of transcription. Significant advances have been made recently in our under standing of how p53 function is regulated and the mechanisms by which p53 m ediates its effects.
