Abstract
A new 23-in. diagonal in-plane-switching (IPS) mode TFT-LCD with H1920 x V1 200 pixels has been developed. This TFT-LCD, which is a new structure with zigzag shaped pixels, has been adopted as an advanced IFS technology. Using this structure, the aperture ratio becomes 25% larger than that of convent ional liquid crystal displays (LCDs). Furthermore, uniform image quality ha s been obtained by using the new dual-line driving method where the design has optimized storage-capacitance for each pixel. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V.
