Abstract
The occurrence of soil microfungi under long-term influence of toxic elemen ts and heavy metals (Cd, As, Hg, Pb, Cu, Zn) in soil samples and stream sed iments from rivers in three regions of Slovakia were studied. Soil microfun gi of 33 genera were identified by routine isolation methods. 6 of them bel ong to the Zygomycota genera (18.2 %), 26 to Deuteromycota genera (78.5 %) and I Ascomycota genus (3.0%). The lowest number were isolated from samples No. 6 - 8, that were taken front soil in the vinicity of liar nad Hronom, with tile highest occurrence of water soluble florine (F) (from 35 to 100 m g.kg(-1)) in Central Slovakia.
