Abstract
In this paper, a new time-stepping, three-dimensional (3-D) numerical analy sis method is proposed. The proposed method is based on the magnetic equiva lent circuit. This method is capable of analyzing linear induction motor wi th faster computation time and less memory than conventional methods. In th is method. the model is divided into hexahedral elements, and then equivale nt magnetic network is constructed by connecting the node of each element c enter. The magneto-motive force (MMF) generated by induced current is model ed as pas sive source in the magnetic equivalent network. Therefore, by usi ng only scalar potential at each node, it is possible to model linear induc tion motors in 3-D and analyze their performances.
