Abstract
The induction of immune responses to rectally administered recombinant chol era toxin B subunit (CTB) in humans was studied. Three immunizations induce d high levels of CTB-specific antibody-secreting cells, particular of the i mmunoglobulin A isotype, in both rectum and peripheral blood. Antitoxin ant ibody responses in rectal secretions and serum were also found.
