Abstract
The problem of cocaine use by pregnant women and the effects on the develop ing child has become major focus of research, treatment and public policy i n the United States. The purpose of this article is to summarize our knowle dge base in this area including methodological issues, discuss the drug exp osed infant as a prototype of the infant at risk, and to consider issues th at impact on public policy and treatment.
