K. Tsukahara et al., Microalgal cultivation in a solution recovered from the low-temperature catalytic gasification of the microalga, J BIOSCI BI, 91(3), 2001, pp. 311-313
Microalgal cultivation in a solution recovered from the low-temperature cat
alytic gasification of the microalga itself was studied. The growth of Chlo
rella vulgaris in 75-300-fold diluted recovered solution containing phospha
te, magnesium ions and micro-elements was comparable to that in the standar
d culture medium. It was suggested that C, vulgaris could use ammonium in t
he recovered solution as its nitrogen source and at the same time could pro
vide a source of biomass which was recycled via gasification.
