Anchoring the Duran flexible annuloplasty ring with continuous sutures

We practised a deviced method of anchoring the Duran flexible ring with con tinuous sutures. After passing through 3/0 monofilament sutures at the righ t and left fibrous trigones, both sutures are passed through the ring betwe en the corresponding ring marker and continuous sutures are placed to attac h the ring to the mitral valve annulus. This technique requires less time t o anchor the ring than the original method with interrupted sutures and can prevent narrowing the mitral valve annulus following the deformity of the flexible ring. This technique can contribute to extend the indication of th e prosthetic ring in mitral valve surgery.
