Abstract
The method of Voronoi polyhedra is used to introduce the concept of nth nei ghbor. For hard spheres a theoretical dependence of the mean distance betwe en the nth neighbors on the coefficient of filling was obtained. A simple f ormula was obtained to estimate the mean distance between the nth neighbors . (C) 2001 American Institute of Physics.
