Abstract
The piezoelectric property of PVDF cables is attributed to the structure of PVDF, i.e. its beta phase content. The aim of this research was to optimiz e the processing steps (e.g., electroding, coating) to maximize the beta ph ase content in PVDF cables manufactured by the technology developed in the Wroclaw Division of the Electrotechnical Institute (IEL). Microstructure ex aminations were carried out on samples drawn at random from both semi-finis hed and final products. The XRD examinations made it possible to assess the effect of texture orientation, temperature and speed of processing operati ons on the beta phase content in the PVDF.
