M. Daturi et al., Vibrational spectra study of Mo(V) phosphates as examples of different geometries of dimolybdenyl species, J MAT CHEM, 11(6), 2001, pp. 1726-1731
Three different phosphate structures, alpha -K2Mo2P2O11, beta -K2Mo2P2O11 a
nd CdMoPO6, in which molybdenum(V) octahedra are assembled in different way
s, have been studied by vibrational spectroscopy techniques. A correlation
is given between crystal structure and infrared and Raman band behaviour wh
ich allows identification of vibrational modes sensitive to a particular co
nfiguration of molybdenum species. This represents a powerful tool for stru
cture characterisation when amorphous or single layer supported phases are
under study.
