In the present study, the UV-Vis absorption spectra and resonance Rama
n spectra of free bilirubin and bilirubin complexes with copper(II), s
ilver(I) and gold(III) excited with different wavelengths were measure
d. From these results and from the band assignments, it is found that
complexes of bilirubin-metal have different structures. This is probab
ly due to the difference of ionic charge and ionic radius between the
