Abstract
Tests for variation in PTC taste perception, and defective colour vision we re performed on Paidies, an endogamous Scheduled Caste population of Vizian agaram district of Andhra Pradesh. The frequency of non-taster gene (t) amo ng paidies is 0.5588 and low frequency of colour blindness (0.025) was obse rved. The results are compared with those of other Andhra populations.
