Abstract
Microsporidia are considered opportunistic pathogens in humans because they are most likely to cause diseases if the immune status of a host is such t hat the infection cannot be controlled. A wide spectrum of diseases has bee n reported among persons infected with microsporidia and different diagnost ic techniques have been developed during the last decade.
