Abstract
The isolation of stable carbenes of the Arduengo (1a) and Wanzlick (2a) typ e has prompted us to look for stable nitrenium ions of the related structur al type 1,3-dimethyl benzotriazolium trifluoromethane sulfonate (3(+)). The title compound was isolated and structure was characterized by X-ray metho ds.
