Abstract
We present a comprehensive study of the evolution of the abundances of inte rmediate mass elements, from C to Zn, in the Milky Way halo and in the loca l disk, using metallicity dependent stellar yields for SNII and SNIa. We co mpare our results to an extensive body of observational data and make a cri tical analysis of the successes and shortcomings of current stellar yields.
