Abstract
The locations of Ne-18 + alpha resonances as excited states in Mg-22 have b een measured using the C-12(O-16,He-6)Mg-22 reaction. Eighteen new levels i n the range 0 less than or equal to E-c.m. less than or equal to 3 MeV were discovered. The Ne-18(alpha, p)Na-21 reaction rate in the temperature rang e T = 0.2 - 1.0 GK has been calculated using the results from the measureme nt. The present study also yielded energy level information on low-lying Na -21 + p resonances of importance to the Na-21(p, gamma)Mg-22 reaction, one of the key links in the NeNa cycles in novae.
