Abstract
Desmosis coli is a disturbance of the intramural connective tissue mesh net work of the colonic wall which can lead to a hypoperistalsis syndrome with chronic constipation in the absence of any anomaly of the vegetative gut in nervation. The condition typically occurs in infants and adolescents; howev er, as an incomplete form, desmosis coli can also cause chronic constipatio n in adults, as demonstrated in this case report.
