Abstract
The electronic theory of metallic system is used to investigate the effect of the local-field correction function for electron's screening and of the electron-ion pseudopotentials on the effective pair potential, structure an d heat capacity (C'(P)) of undercooled liquid Rb. C'(P) is found to increas e with decreasing T in the region T < T-m. The T dependence of C'(P) is fou nd to be consistent for different electron's screening functions and differ ent pseudopotentials. The characteristic features of interatomic pair poten tials and structure factors in the undercooled region are also discussed. T he principal peak height of the structure factor reaches a height of 2.8 in the undercooled Rh at T = 185 K which is about 59% lower than T-m. <(c)> 2 001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
