Abstract
A recent paper on photoemission of YbInCu4 reports some significant finding s that have implications beyond the single material investigated. We find s ome of the experimental results in the paper to be meritorious but the cent ral premise and conclusion are not supported by additional data. We provide alternative interpretations for the experimental results and exploit advan tages in the photoemission process to more clearly elucidate the electronic structure of Yb heavy fermions and the applicability of photoelectron spec troscopy.
