Neutron inelastic scattering experiments were performed on the quasi-one-di
mensional magnet Ca2Y2Cu5O10, which consists of the ferromagnetic edge-shar
ing CuO2 chains. The magnetic excitation peak width in energy becomes broad
er with increasing Q along the chain although sharp excitations are observe
d around the zone center and perpendicular to the chain. We revealed that t
he anomalous magnetic excitation spectra are caused mainly by the antiferro
magnetic interchain interactions.
