G. Kondrat et A. Pekalski, Percolation and jamming in random sequential adsorption of linear segmentson a square lattice - art. no. 051108, PHYS REV E, 6305(5), 2001, pp. 1108
We present the results of a study of random sequential adsorption of linear
segments (needles) on sites of a square lattice. We show that the percolat
ion threshold is a nonmonotonic function of the length of the adsorbed need
le, showing a minimum for a certain length of the needles, while the jammin
g threshold decreases to a constant with a power law. The ratio of the two
thresholds is also nonmonotonic and it remains constant only in a restricte
d range of the needles length. We determine the values of the correlation l
ength exponent for percolation, jamming, and their ratio.
