Abstract
We demonstrate that two-frequency laser light can be generated by rapid cur rent modulation of a diode laser which is injection locked to a separate fr equency-stabilized diode laser. First-order sidebands containing at least 2 % of the power in the carrier are produced for modulation frequencies >7 GH z. This configuration is a convenient and inexpensive alternative to using two separate frequency-stabilized diode lasers or an electro-optic modulato r. (C) 2001 American Institute of Physics.
