Abstract
The structure of SrL2, where HL is di(hydroxymethyl)phosphinic acid, is stu died by X-ray crystallography. The Sr atom is bonded to four phosphine and four hydroxy oxygen atoms of six L ligands; Sr-O(L), 2.521-2.683 Angstrom. In the framework structure, L functions as a tetradentate chelating mu (3)- bridging ligand. The structure contains O-H . . .O hydrogen bonds (O . . .O . 2.723; H . . .O, 1.96 Angstrom; OHO angle, 170 degrees).
