Dj. Rosenthal et al., THE CRITICAL PROPERTIES OF ALKANOIC ACIDS USING A LOW RESIDENCE TIME FLOW METHOD, Fluid phase equilibria, 135(1), 1997, pp. 89-95
The critical temperatures and pressures of the alkanoic acids containi
ng up to eight carbon atoms have been measured using a low residence t
ime flow method. Our data have been compared with literature data when
ever possible and several inconsistencies in the literature data have
been resolved by the present work. In particular, our data show that l
iterature methods which require an appreciable residence time are like
ly to yield poor estimates of the critical properties of alkanoic acid
