K. Fujinaga et al., Solvent extraction of transition metal ions by an in situ extractant formation method: Salicylaldoxime-forming system., SOL EX R D, 8, 2001, pp. 144-158
It was found that salicylaldoxime was formed in the aqueous phase by equili
brating a mixed solvent containing salicylaldehyde and chloroform with a me
tal ion aqueous solution containing hydroxylamine. Copper( II ) and nickel(
II ) could be quantitatively extracted into the organic phase without usin
g a chelate extractant at all.
