Abstract
Convergent syntheses of the enantiomeric CD- and JK-ring parts of ciguatoxi n, based on a coupling reaction between dithioacetal mono-S-oxide and aldeh yde derivatives and reductive cyclization of the respective hydroxy ketones , have been achieved.
