Abstract
Recently, oscillation properties of quartz crystal have been studied to ana lyze the electrochemical process on the organic thin film. In this study, w e adopted these research aspects to understand optical reaction of merocyan ine dye, which has been well known as their possible application to the hig h efficiency photo-electric devices [1-2]. Summarized experimental result, the resonant frequency was decreased with UV irradiation. But it cannot be explained by mass adsorption onto QCM, as the mass adsorption couldn't be o ccurred by the experimental setup. Also the behaviour of resistance R-1 sup ported that results, because generally mass adsorption goes along with resi stance increase. We found some evidences in AFM image, the morphology chang e by the aggregate dissociation has been observed. Thus we consider the mor phology change as the reason of frequency and resistance behaviours but its exact mechanism cannot be explained at present stage.
