T. Livache et al., Polypyrrole electrospotting for the construction of oligonucleotide arrayscompatible with a surface plasmon resonance hybridization detection., SYNTH METAL, 121(1-3), 2001, pp. 1443-1444
We describe in this paper a new electrospotting process allowing a straight
forward functionalization of homogeneous gold surfaces. It is based on a di
rect electro-copolymerization of pyrrole and pyrrole linked to an oligonucl
eotide on a gold substrate via the use of a moving micro electrochemical ce
ll. The polypyrrole spots obtained by this way were characterized in terms
of thickness and DNA hybridization efficiency. Results show that either flu
orescence or surface plasmon resonance detection of DNA hybridization can b
e carried out on these substrates.
