Abstract
A pyrimidine derivative containing pentadiine chain and its polymer were sy nthesized and their optical limiting (OL) effect in solution and in thin pl ate were measured by using 10 ns frequency doubled Nd:YAG laser with 10 Hz repetition rate. The solution of PolyPPDA in chloroform shows typical RSA c haracteristics, its sigma (ex), is far over that of PDATS. The thin plate o f polyPPDA dispersed in epoxy resin shows similar optical limiting effect w ith that of PDATS analogy.
