Abstract
Conducting Polypyrrole/Cl- (Ppy/Cl) has been electrochemically prepared bet ween the open void spaces in polystyrene synthetic opal crystal. The synthe tic opal was formed by the sedimentation of colloidal polystyrene (ca. 315 nm) to produce self-assembled face centered cubic (fcc) films exhibiting op alescence. The voids between the colloids were filled by polypyrrole grown through opal deposited onto Indium-Tin-Oxide (ITO) glass slide or platinum coated PVFD filter. Electrochemical studies as well as UV-visible spectrosc opic studies were conducted.
